TV stand

Tuesday, December 30, 2008

We can't use our 47 inches TV at the moment. Apparently the bulb inside was blown when the power went on and off one day when we had a storm. We are so frustrated about what happened because that TV is not even a year old. So now it's laying down on the shed. The tv stand is still in very good shape so we took our old TV from the box and set it on top of the tv stand. It works perfectly well matching the color of our old TV.

How to win back your friendship

How to tell the difference from good friends and less-than-good friends? From these checklists you'll learn the friendship you have with them.
Friendship should reduce your stress, not add to it. A friendship that's hard word or feels bad is not true friendship.
Real friends support you and help without being asked. They never judge you, belittle you or act superior to you.
Friends listen. You know when you noticed when talking to your friend her/his eyes always glazed over while you were talking as she/he waited for her/his next chance to speak.
But did you know that you can fix a broken friendship? Yes you can! Identify what's wrong. Maybe your needs have changed. Then articulate your concerns (not easy!). If that doesn't work, give up and move on. :-)

Engagement rings

My boyfriend at the time took me so much by surprise one day when we went out to dinner to this beautiful restaurant. We had a bottle of campaign and to my surprise I almost drank my engagement ring. It was so beautiful with the marquis cut diamond. I love it very much not to mention I couldn't shut off my tears of joy in the middle of the restaurant. The only thing was it was white gold. In the days to follow I said it by accident about the color. So being the great guy my fiancee is, we went out to look for engagement rings together. The set we found was so brilliant at the same store that they just took mine in exchange for the new ones. Now I'm happy.

Sand risk : what to do

We all know that summer is way far ahead. After reading an article about sand risk I thought that I am obliged to share what I have just learned. It says that beach sand has five to ten times more bacteria than adjacent water. bacteria from bird droppings and human waste such as E. Coli may survive longer in sand than in water because bacteria adhere to particles.

I myself don't want to spoil the fun on the beach. We like going to the beach especially playing on the sand and make sand castles. So to have a self-defense against the bacteria make sure to wash hands after leaving the beach. Warn children not to put their hands in their mouths when digging in the sand.

Swiss Army luggage

Sunday, December 28, 2008

Don't you just love it when a surprise came along? I am talking of a very reasonably priced trip to Cancun Mexico which includes travel tickets, the hotel, and food for the whole family. My husband received this from a mail letter which came from believe it or not a past employer. My husband left with very good standings with this company. We really wanted some good durable luggage so we took a word of a friend and looked up Swiss Army luggage. We weren't in any way disappointed. Very stylish and durable and will last for many years.

Our strategy of buying on ebay : it really works

Saturday, December 27, 2008

Once upon a time? Not really! We were looking for a snowmobile. My husband is an eBay fanatic. He had over thirty eight snowmobile on his eBay page. Constantly watching days of the auction versus pricing and the years of the snowmobile. Really the best way to narrow it down on eBay is to watch for the snowmobile in your price range that don't receive a bid for whatever reason.

Usually its location sometimes too high a price but then again the high price one won't fall in our category. So we wait for the auction to end on a snowmobile that doesn't receive any bids then you email the seller with a cheap price and hope for the best. Being the auction is over this does not interfere with eBay's policy. Eventually my husband after sending about twelve email over three weeks got a response back to accept the cheaper price. Not a bad snowmobile and we got it for three hundred dollars less than what the seller was offering it for in the auction.

The other way to do it is when on the first day of the listing is to email the seller and offer them a cheap price if they close the auction now. You know there's a lot of people out there that want their money now instead of later, so they'll take your offer just so they can have the money sooner. And this really works. Follow this and you'll save some bucks.

Sale

Amazing how much snow we get here living in the Central New York Snow Belt area. After thirty years of not having a snowmobile we decided to buy one. So what happens I thought I could show off like I did as a kid. I fell off hurt my leg so I was laid up for quite sometime. I needed to do my Christmas shopping so I was looking for a sale. There was so much stuff. I found myself buying again and again but all my love ones are very happy with their gifts and it was very effortlessly for me being laid up with my leg.

Advance happy holidays!

New DSL Connection

Monday, December 15, 2008

After months of waiting, my sister finally switch her Internet to DSL which makes things a lot easier for all of us. She had a Smart Bro prepaid type of card with minutes used before but it was so frustrating when in the middle of our conversation the line got screwed up. Sometimes I can't even call her computer but this morning my sister came online. It was so funny when she put on her web cam and I can see everybody talking at the same time. Me and Jarred got the chance to talk to Papa and Mama. We are all so excited seeing everyone. I just wish Papa's eye sight comes back so he can see Jarred on the web cam.

weighing the pros and cons

Tuesday, December 9, 2008

Often times, it made me think if I am going home to see my mama and papa. It's been four years now that I haven't seen my beloved parents and living in a faraway land away from them is not that easy. I want to see my loved ones but there are many things to be considered and this has been left undone. What's making me stop doing it? Its money, time, and security.

To fly over the Philippines with only me and my 2 year old requires a budget not to mention spending thirty one hours on a plane. Real scary not for myself but for my son who will experience a long trip. He never had a long trip before. Only thinking of what situation we'll have already gives me cold feet and sweaty hands. Along with his health. Can he adjust to the weather over there which sometimes goes up to 95 degrees? What if he'll get sick? So many what if's. I will decide soon God HELP ME!

BUGS everywhere!

Saturday, December 6, 2008

How was it every time you go to the doctor to get well you ended up getting well the one thing and then you turn around and you come down with something else as in a massive cold? I hate it. That's probably why I don't feel like going to the doctors' more often. I feel like charging the doctors for the medicine to ease my cold because after all they're the ones they gave it to me. Next time I think I wear gloves on my hands and a respirator on my face and walk in just to prove a point of how many germs are in a clean doctors office. :-)

Thanksgiving Holiday

Thursday, November 27, 2008

Finally Thanksgiving is here and on this tradition deep fried turkey or oven cooked turkey is served but "WHERE IS THE TURKEY"? Here are some funny jokes about it. Let's see if it make you laugh.
Now where is that Turkey?

Two pilgrims go out hunting. One has two blunderbusses.
The second pilgrim asks, 'Why do you have two blunderbusses?'
The first pilgrim explains, 'I usually miss the first time I shoot. By taking two I can shoot again.'
The second pilgrim thinks for a while and then says, 'Why not just take the second one, and only shoot once?'
Six Legged Turkey
An industrious turkey farmer was always experimenting with breeding, his mission was to produce the perfect turkey. His family was fond of the leg portion for dinner and there were never enough legs for everyone.
After many frustrating attempts, the farmer was relating the results of his efforts to his friends at the general store. 'Well I finally did it! I bred a turkey that has six legs!' They all asked the farmer how it tasted.
'I don't know, 'said the farmer, 'I never could catch it!'

HAPPY THANKSGIVING to all! Enjoy your turkey dinner...

Drinking ginger tea

Wednesday, November 26, 2008

Do you like ginger tea? I do but my husband doesn't. Ginger tea has a pleasant flavor, and it contain a variety of chemical compounds that can reduce fever. In my country ginger tea is so popular especially in a gathering served to the guests. It's also good drinking in the morning. You can make teas with powdered ginger but the fresh root is more strong and effective. It also tastes better. Grate 1 table spoon of ginger, cover it with 1 cup of boiling water, let it steep 10 minutes.

Frustration

Monday, November 24, 2008

Have you ever experienced when you called a company and came to find out that it’s only answered by a voice activated system? You need to push number one for specific reason of your calling then 2 or three on other options only to realize at the end that there’s not live customer service representative on the other line to answer your question. Of course after doing all this you’ll be frustrated and hang up. What the heck! I don’t really understand that.

Getting Ready for Thanksgiving

Tuesday, November 18, 2008

Christmas is fast approaching and nearly all the people are done with their shopping for Christmas presents. But of course before Christmas arrives don't forget one of the important date in your calendar, the Thanksgiving holiday. Here in the United States Thanksgiving is observed on every fourth Thursday of November. This year thanksgiving is on November 27th. This holiday is celebrated in remembrance of the pilgrims and in order to give thanks.

This World

Saturday, November 8, 2008

Did you ever notice signs these days? No smoking in this area and people continue to smoke. Pick up after your dog and people don't. It's horrible if you stepped in dog's poop. You feel like throwing out your shoes unfortunately that cost too much to waste. Signs that say NO U TURN. Why not?! Could never understand that one. Then there's a sign before you get to a bridge that says "slippery when wet" well of course it is. Was this sign invented for people with no brains? The newest one I can't stand are painted all across the big buses. Talk about a distraction. Your eyes focused on it as it's moving and you could get into an accident. Anyway, we think back to an old song that seems to cover this blog. Click on the link http://lyricstrue.net/bandsongtext/Tesla/Signs.html.

The invincible dog

Thursday, November 6, 2008

This is a true story of my husband's invincible dog gone but not forgotten. The way my husband told it I though I was really there. We like to hear this story over and over again.

"When I was about twenty years old I had an invincible dog. By all rights his name is Samson. He was a Doberman lightly mixed with a Collie. Strange combo. Look like a Doberman had a Collie nose. I always tease him by calling him (ugly dog, ugly dog) He would put his head down and try to speak to you as to say knock it off. One day Samson got off his leash went down the road about half a mile. He got in a fight with a golden retriever. I guess the owner of the golden retriever didn't like this much he came out of the garage with a long screw driver stuck it right straight through Samson in one side out the other. Samson came running home smile on his face as usual with the new surprise for me. I couldn't believe the screw driver was in him showing no pain. I went in the house got some hydrogen peroxide dumped it on the towel put it on Samson's wounds and pulled the screw driver out. I have no clue how the screw driver missed all of his vital organs but nothing ever hurt Samson. A couple years went by, Samson got off his leash again. I was calling for him it was almost dark. As I seen him come running out of the field to cross the road a tractor trailer driving slow from the neighbors house hit Samson. He went under the truck and rolled over and over and over again. The truck continued down the road Samson comes running in the driveway limping on one leg with that smile on his face this time I just can't believe it and I laughed because he is not hurt. Samson is not good at staying at home when were gone away. So we took him with us for a boat ride up on a small lake in Upstate New York about forty miles away from our house. We were on the boat and just before sunset a flock of geese flew low above the boat. Samson jumped overboard just as the sun set behind the trees. The waves were quite rough, the noise covered any sound of him splashing, we searched for hours it seem. The next morning we even walked partway around the lake calling for him but no Samson. We figured the waves so high he must have drowned. We thought this was the end of mighty Samson. Two months later we had a lightning storm at our house and made me think of Samson. The same exact moment that his face I pictured in my mind there was a big boom at the door that made me jump. I got up to see Samson's face and his paws on the door with that same darn smile. I opened the door he looked like he been through hell and he really enjoyed a big hug from me. Samson lived to be thirteen years old. One morning I got up and Samson passed away quietly in his sleep. PS. One of Samson's other incredible feats were bringing home three little baby bunnies one at a time carrying them at the edge of his teeth not to hurt them but to bring them to us as to say they need help. Incredible!"

get ready.. set... go...

Tuesday, November 4, 2008

We were digging out on Jarred's snow suit. It's so cold outdoors but Maddy and Jarred would like to play so we get them ready to go out and play. We found his snow suit and he put it on. It just barely fit him and the length is still okay covering his feet. As soon as he was done dressing up he took daddy's hand pulling him to go to the door. Jarred ride on the little kids four wheeler and Maddy took the bigger one. Jarred is so confident riding the four wheeler.

Best Little Zoo: our favorite place no more

Grandpa Bob's petting zoo. It's so sad Grandpa Bob's retiring so they're auctioning off all the animals big and small along with the cages to go with the animals. It was amazing how many people showed up.

Grandpa Bobs petting zoo had all your local type animals along with quite a few exotic animals, not really native to New York are chinchillas. They're like a mouse kangaroo and bunny combo very fast very bouncy and very cute so that's what we focused on we had these many years ago. A virus came through and devastated our chinchillas.

It happened in three quarters of the United States thank goodness chinchillas are good at re-populating because we love them so. Our little doggie is jealous. She puts her nose to the cage and the chinchilla pokes her nose it's so funny. We can't figure out whether she wants to play with them or eat them. She could never catch them if they got out. If they get cornered and highly threatened they would turn and spray pee in the predators face they also can put their little paws together and punch straight forward with their claws extended to try to defend off their attacker. All in all chinchillas are fun little animals.

Happy Halloween and Happy Birthday too!

Friday, October 31, 2008

So many things to do in Halloween you can see different costumes, eating candies, you'll see people trick or treating, have Halloween parties, ghost touring, have bonfires, reading scary stories, and watching horror movies only a few things that you can do on Halloween but also not forgetting the important thing to do carving your jack-0'-lanterns. The celebration started in the morning but mostly at night because it is dark and more scarier to walk around the neighborhood doing your favorite trick or treating knocking on every ones door. What could be more fun is celebrating your love ones birthday on Halloween. My mother in law's birthday is on the 31st of October where ghosts and witches are out. She's our good witch with a pure heart. Happy Birthday Mom and Happy Halloween...

Mind is clicking

Wednesday, October 29, 2008

Jarred was playing with cloudy this morning and then he is trying to cover cloudy with the blanket I asked him why he said "cold mommy" and I laughed at his answer. I think it was cute... there you go. His mind is clicking again. After playing with cloudy we give our dog a bath while Jarred is helping pouring water on cloudy while mommy rinse the soap from our dog's body. Thanks for helping Jarred.

Just A Little Peek of the Weather

Our weather wasn't nice; yesterday the first drop of snow has arrived. We were hoping that the coming Halloween would be nicer to us. But the least was so unexpected. It's going to be cold and colder. The snow had started already at this early I took a quick zoom of my camera to show what our driveway looked like.

wrecking boxes

Sunday, October 26, 2008

Have you ever noticed that the boxes of food at the store in the United States are completely different than the boxes in the Philippines? It's like how do you get this darn thing open without destroying it. Some packages require extra strong teeth it's like they don't want you to get it open and then after you get it open you can't get it properly shot. It says open here yeah right! You might as well start on the other side or get a pair of scissors not to mention new toys this days that come from china some assembly required means you need a college education on an assembly line and always keep a one hundred pack of double A batteries on hand also back up rechargeable ones for little boys little train.

push in boots

Saturday, October 25, 2008

Finally, we went to the store and bought the boots that I am going to wear on Halloween. It's tough to find size 5 shoes and most of the time we find my shoe size on the children's section. (lol!) Anyhow it was my lucky day yesterday after searching on the regular adult shoe isle I finally found what I really wanted. I love this boots and my husband thinks it's sexy.

Incredible super yachts!

Wednesday, October 22, 2008

It's incredible how people can afford their toys. Used to be a super yacht was about a hundred feet, now somewhere out to the 300 hundred feet. Makes you wonder who can afford these things. 20 million, 30 million, 50 million dollars. Some of this ships are like small cities. Some of these super yachts actually have 40 feet smaller yachts that roll off the back of the big ship to take you to shore. Toys on board include jet skis, 20 plus feet sailboats and catamarans . We just want the 40 footer that rolls off the back as our yacht. (lol!)

Waffle, egg , bacon and fried filipino rice

Sunday, October 19, 2008

Everybody was enjoying breakfast this morning when mommy cooked the delicious mouth watering, waffle topped with the sweet syrup, sunny side up egg and bacon on the side, with fried rice. So funny when every body is so quiet concentrating on each plate. I preferred a hot cup of coffee with it but they like cold milk. Everybody was all set. That was a big breakfast for all of us.

To deal with some people

Friday, October 17, 2008

The life of a maintenance men is not that easy especially when dealing with some people who doesn't have any idea on simple problem inside their apartment. Calling his emergency phone screaming at you and bitching that their apartment is freezing. You'll run into some tenant who doesn't even know how to turn on their thermostat to heat up their apartment in winter. When do this people learn how to be polite and show some respect when talking to people. Sometimes I just shake my head when my husband came home and told me what he had encountered from work. Too much patience to deal with these kind of people.

Medical nano worms

Wednesday, October 15, 2008

Have you heard the latest? Scientist has developed this little robots smaller than the thickness of human hair. It's crazy they're so small that they can put them on a needle inject them into your bloodstream and their little brains are taught to track down any cancerous cells in your body. The little robots are coated with iron oxide particles when they find the cancerous cells. They attach themselves to it by having the iron oxide on the nanobots. The person goes into an x-ray, the iron oxide particles show up brightly under x-ray so doctors can see cancerous areas at an early stage. So the earlier they catch your cancer the better chances you have for survival.

SCAM

My husband had a wicked head ache on his experience regarding the online business kit. They billed us four dollars for the shipping of a disk that we never receive and turned around and billed us two full months for services of this business that we never even receive or started. Then a company got a hold of my husband's name and telephone number and kept calling like he haven't paid for it. He called his credit card company and they were already charged. He let his credit card company know he was disputing the charges and he also called this merchant that billed us and canceled the entire program that we didn't even receive. He also told those girls that kept on calling to try to get his visa numbers that their company is scammer and they have no right calling. He can't report them because their unknown number and in a different country. It is a pain in a butt just to have to deal with this. If they would have just send the stuff we might overlook the charge even though they said they would bill one month at a time.

Weird phone call

Does anybody receive a call from this number 786-976-0001? Oh my gosh! we keep in getting it at one in the morning we just want to reach out and choke that person for waking us up. Another weird phone call. Its ridiculous...

Harry Robert Puff

Tuesday, October 14, 2008

HR PUFF as in Harry Robert Puff a best friend and protector. Nope he is not a man, he is our Himalayan cat. The most awesome cat that I have known. Older than my 10 year old step daughter Madelyn. Never had a chance that he would hurt a baby in fact he is a protector to my son Jarred. He would lay down next to my son when he is sleeping, guarding him. Jarred liked Puff because he can cuddle him or even made as a pillow. Puff is the first word that came out of Jarred's mouth instead of mama or Dada. Funny but I guess it's the first word he can say when we always call puff to come down the stairs to be with us in the living room when we were watching T.V. or playing with him. Puff obediently came down and join us. I love our Puff...
